The Silence of the Lambs is a psychological thriller directed by Jonathan Demme and released in 1991. It stars Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling, an FBI trainee who is tasked with finding the serial killer "Buffalo Bill" and stopping his reign of terror. To do so, she must enlist the help of the brilliant but dangerous Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a cannibalistic psychiatrist imprisoned for gruesome murders. Throughout the movie, Clarice must brave intense psychological manipulation in order to gain the knowledge she needs to stop the killer. As she delves deeper into the darker aspects of her own psyche, she begins to understand the killer's motivations and ultimately faces him in a fierce battle of wits. The Silence of the Lambs is a gripping and intense look into the world of a serial killer, one that won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
