The Silence of the Lambs is a psychological horror-thriller film directed by Jonathan Demme and released in 1991. It stars Jodie Foster as FBI trainee Clarice Starling and Anthony Hopkins as the brilliant but infamous psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer, Hannibal Lecter. Misery is a psychological horror film based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. It tells the story of writer Paul Sheldon, who is rescued by his "number one fan" Annie Wilkes after a car accident. Annie, a former nurse, takes Paul to her remote home and begins to nurse him back to health. However, as Paul attempts to leave the house, Annie turns from a caring nurse to a deranged captor. She forces Paul to write a novel for her that includes her favorite character and threatens to harm him if he does not comply. As Paul struggles to find a way out of his dangerous situation, Annie’s true motivations for keeping him captive are slowly revealed. In the end, Paul is able to escape from Annie’s grasp but not without leaving behind a few casualties.
