King Kong is a 1933 fantasy adventure film directed by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack. It follows a film crew and their trip to Skull Island, an uncharted island inhabited by a giant gorilla known as Kong. While the crew is initially terrified of Kong, they soon learn that he is actually quite gentle and intelligent. The crew's leader, Carl Denham, captures Kong and brings him back to New York City for public display. Unfortunately, Kong escapes and wreaks havoc on the city, searching for the woman he has come to love, Ann Darrow. In the end, Kong is killed by the military and his body is put on display in the city. Despite his death, Kong lives on as an iconic symbol of beauty, power, and innocence.

Battle Royale is a 2000 Japanese cult classic film directed by Kinji Fukasaku. The students are each given a bag of food and water, a map, and a randomly chosen weapon. The island is surrounded by a deadly electric fence and the students must battle it out until the last one remains. The film explores themes of loyalty, morality, and the harsh reality of life in a world where one must fight to survive.
