Warrior is a drama film directed by Gavin O'Connor and released in 2011. It tells the story of two estranged brothers, Tommy and Brendan Conlon, who must face each other in a Mixed Martial Arts tournament. Both men, driven by their need for redemption, must confront their pasts and the demons that haunt them. Tommy is a former Marine who is struggling to support his family as he battles with post-traumatic stress disorder. He enters the tournament as a way to win money and gain closure. Meanwhile, Brendan is a high school physics teacher who must battle his own inner demons when his wife leaves him. He also enters the tournament to win money and prove his worth to his disapproving father. As the tournament progresses, both brothers must confront their feelings of guilt and anger and must ultimately decide whether or not to forgive each other. In the end, each brother is victorious in his own way, and both come to terms with their pasts.
