The Revenant is a 2015 American survival drama film directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu. With sheer will as his only weapon, Glass battles the elements in a quest to survive and exact revenge.

Treadwell and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard were eventually killed and eaten by a bear in 2003. Herzog's documentary follows Treadwell's life, focusing on his passionate advocacy for the preservation of grizzly bears and his deep connection to them. Through interviews with his friends and family and footage from his own video diaries, the film provides an intimate portrait of Treadwell's life and ultimately questions his motivations, his methods, and his legacy.
